Trust the Process
I work at the intersection of art and perception. My work is characterised by fluid materials that often seem to take on a life of their own. The more I let the colours flow freely in the first step, the more interesting the results are.
The second phase of the painting process emerged from the necessary drying process of the alcohol ink.
However, this moment – the delayed vision – has since become central to my practice.
I am interested in how our perspective changes and what becomes visible when we take our time and allow ourselves a new way of seeing. Our automatic categorisation and judgement then shift.
This way of working has given rise to a process that I now also use in my programmes.
It is less about design in the traditional sense, and more about perception, distance and a changed perspective on what is already there.
