Floating Colours.
The creative process
The colours
I work with fluid media, particularly alcohol-based ink and acrylic, which cannot be fully controlled. The vibrant colours of the alcohol-based ink form the basis of the painting. The colour scheme is applied intuitively. The acrylic paints provide a framework, adding texture and depth.
A picture emerges
In the first stage, as the ink flows, something open and unformed emerges. In the second stage, viewed from a distance, what lies within becomes visible. This temporal separation alters our perception and is essential to the overall process. Often, something that initially seemed like a ‘failure’ turns out to be particularly beautiful in the end.
